Perfect for kindergarten clothes

My 5yo is 96% for height and 98% for weight. She is the largest child in her kindergarten class, with curvy muscle, broad shoulders, and my height. She has never really fit RTW, even when I size up.

I took basic measurements and she mostly fell into preset size 8. I skimmed through the preset measurements and added 1" to her front shoulders, 2" to her back shoulders (wow), and other bits here and there.

After saving the project and downloading the file, I projected it onto my fabric and gave it a shot.

And it works! The fit over her shoulders is perfect, the neckline is great, the boxy fit and ¾ sleeve is just right for a classic kids' play top. I could have gone another ½" longer on the neckband because it did end up with a pleat, but that could have been fabric choice.

watch the measurement video before Hand!

Love this concept to create custom fit patterns - and it works! there are so many options within this calculator, that are hard to grasp at first sight of this pattern. i guess i m now fully equipped for all the tops, tanks, pullovers etc, that need to be sewn!
i m not used to sew knits, usally working with wovens, bit it was straight forward. but i shoul have watched the meassuring tutorial first - got some issued around the shoulders, that could have been avoided.

my fit raglan

My first attempt was marred by poor measuring, but I'm very pleased with the fit of my second. Now that I've got that sorted I'm looking forward to making sweatshirts and hoodies.
